Welcome to The Village Seamstress website. We are located in the charming village of Warmington, Northamptonshire, near Oundle. 

My professional journey began after dedicating approximately fifteen years to teaching in secondary schools. In search of a new path, I undertook training in Pattern Drafting, Tailoring, and Dress Structure. Over time, I specialised in alterations and repairs for high-end clothing while also creating gowns and a variety of     fabric items for four families. As my expertise grew, I expanded my services by accepting commissions from additional clients. I then decided to develop my business further to include private sewing lessons and courses on how to sew.

 My primary focus is on tailoring (including suits, shooting wear, jackets, and coats) and the construction of clothing for evening, wedding, and special occasions. Additionally, I am equipped to repair a wide range of items, from bags to cherished antique embroidered bedding, and even darning your  favourite jumper.
